Kisuma joins Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)
We are pleased to inform you that Kisuma Chemicals BV has joined the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) as a supply chain associate. The RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria which companies must comply with in order to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). When they are properly applied, these criteria can help to minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil-producing regions. The RSPO has more than 3,000 members worldwide who represent all links along the palm oil supply chain. Members have committed to produce, source and/or use sustainable palm oil certified by the RSPO.
Barend van den Beld, supply chain & ICT manager of Kisuma Chemicals, says: "The majority of Kisuma Chemical's inorganic magnesium-based chemicals are surface treated with an organic coating. The organic coating is a relatively small component of our products. However, at Kisuma Chemicals we want to make a positive impact on our local environment as well as the markets in which we operate. Therefore, we have made the decision to only source RSPO certified coating agent for an important part of our product portfolio. By joining the RSPO as a supply chain associate, we are taking the next step in our commitment towards sustainable sourcing."
