Our non-toxic magnesium compounds find their way mainly to the engineering plastics and polymer processing industry. Their main applications include:

Heat stabilisation of PVC products, as an alternative for lead containing compounds.

The hydrotalcite like compounds specialy produced for application in a PVC matrix are the (co-) stabilisers of choice in Calcium Organic Stabiliser systems.

These products are marketed under the brandnames Alcamizer^® and are used for COS systems for rigid PVC application as well as for flexible PVC

 

 

Flame retardancy of e.g. wire and cables in automotive and ICT applications, as an alternative for bromine or phosphorous based compounds.

Our flame retardant grades magnesium hydroxide, brand name Kisuma^®5 are unmatched in terms of quality and performance. Both production and application are covered by numerous patents.

Halogen scavenging in poly propylene and other bulk polymers.

DHT-4 are hydrotalcite like compounds applied as Halogen Scavengers in e.g. polyolefin systems.

Scavenge Acid residues from acid catalyst polymerization reaction such as:

• Ziegler-Natta: TiCl4 or VCl4 and Al(C2H5)2. catalyst
• Friedel Craft AlCl3 catalyst.
• Mettalocene catalysis Ferrocene or Zirconozene catalysts.

Unlike many other products used in similar applications, KCBV products are generally considered to be safe, both during handling and application.
